1. FC Köln are looking forward to the draw for the playoffs in the UEFA Conference League tomorrow, Tuesday.
There are eight potential opponents for the Bundesliga club’s first international appearance since 2017/18. FC will look to one of the four winners from the duels FC Lugano (Switzerland) – Hapoel Beer Sheva (Israel), Fehervar FC (Hungary) – Petrocub Hincesti (Moldova), Spartak Trnava (Slovakia) – Rakow Czestochowa (Poland) and Levski Sofia (Bulgaria) – Hamrun Spartans (Malta) score.
The play-offs will be played in a first and second leg on August 18th and 25th.
The winner advances to the group stage, which begins on September 8th and consists of a total of eight groups, each made up of four teams. A success in the play-off pairings would be worthwhile for the people of Cologne. Last season, UEFA distributed €2.8 million to each participant in the group stage.
