The EU has started disbursing another billion-euro loan to Ukraine. According to the responsible EU Commission, a first transfer of 500 million euros was made on Monday. Another transfer of 500 million euros will be paid out on Tuesday. The loans are part of a €9 billion aid package announced by the European Union in May. The money is intended, among other things, to cover the payment of pensions or to operate hospitals. The EU had already made 1.2 billion euros available to Ukraine in the first half of the year.
