Police and animal lover community raid dog slaughterhouse in Surabaya, East Java. Police say dog meat is not sold raw, but processed into rica-rica dishes.
Head of the Tipidek Subunit, Sat Reskrim Polrestabes Surabaya, Ipda Raka Bima Grimaldi said the poor dogs were put in sacks with their mouths tied. This is so that the sound does not disturb the residents.
“From the results of the identification, after the dog arrived, the dog was indeed put in a sack with his mouth tied. This was done so that his voice would not disturb the local residents,” explained Raka, as quoted from detikJatimTuesday (2/8/2022).

Bima added that the dog that had been put in the sack was then hanged and beaten to death. Next, the dog is burned and skinned to remove the hair and then chopped.
“After that, the dog was hanged to death. Then it was burned to remove its fur. After that, it was just skinned and cut for cooking,” continued Raka.
“Sold it after it became a rica-rica dish. The execution process is above the house, but the cooking is downstairs,” Raka concluded.
