Researchers have found three types of “long covid”

Those who were infected by the alpha and delta variants of corona have had symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog and headaches.

Those who were infected in the initial phase of the pandemic often have symptoms related to shortness of breath and chest pain.

A final group has a number of different complaints, including heart palpitations, muscle pain, changes in hair and skin.

The symptoms can be prominent in all types of “long covid”, the researchers point out. Claire Steves at King’s College London says the findings are important for providing good treatment to patients.

– These data clearly show that post-corona disease is not just one condition, but appears to have several subtypes, says Steves.
