PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan stated that his party respected the AFF decision which stated that Vietnam and Thailand had not made a mistake in the match AFF U-19 Cup 2022.
Although he had made a cynical response to Vietnam and Thailand for playing a strange game in the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup, Iriawan was sure that the Indonesian national team would not do the same, which for him was quite embarrassing.
“I think it’s okay, if you want to play like that, one day we will play like that too. But, I’m sure I don’t want our national team to play like that,” said Iriawan at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Sunday (31/7) night.

“Because I think it’s quite embarrassing. In my opinion, but I don’t know that the general chairman is not ashamed, I don’t understand. So I still respect the decision,” he continued.
PSSI has confirmed the answer from AFF regarding the protest letter that was sent some time ago. The AFF stated that they did not find any violations in the Vietnam vs Thailand match in the preliminary round of Group A of the U-19 AFF Cup.
AFF confirmed that it had conducted a review involving three competent institutions to respond to PSSI’s protests. They are Sport Radar, tacticians and the AFF Disciplinary Committee.
With all the above input, it is concluded that no rules were violated in the last 12 minutes match between Vietnam and Thailand.
AFF also thanked PSSI for raising this issue so that they could learn from various perspectives.
PSSI accepted gracefully the answer from AFF. At least the doubts about the strange Vietnam vs Thailand match have been answered by the AFF.
