The president, however, “continues to feel good” and continues to work from the residence of the presidential mansion to stay in isolation and not infect others, O’Connor explained.
The doctor considered that the positive result of the Covid-19 test comes “without surprises” because Biden tested positive yesterday.
The White House announced on July 21 that the president had been infected with Covid-19 and on July 27 he came out of isolation after testing negative the day before.

However, after testing negative for four consecutive days, on Saturday, July 30, an antigen test showed that the virus was still present in the president’s body.
O’Connor has attributed Biden’s positive result to the effects of the oral antiretroviral drug Paxlovid which he took for five days to help with the symptoms of the disease.
According to the doctor, this anticovid pill may have a “rebound effect” which is what Biden, 79, is experiencing, and who received two doses of the vaccine and two other boosters.
US health authorities recognized in May that Paxlovid, a drug manufactured by Pfizer, can cause a “rebound” effect but continue to recommend its use for adults and those over 12 years of age, especially when these people are at risk of complications. by Covid-19.

The “rebound” effect can occur between 2 and 8 days after your initial recovery and manifests itself with the reappearance of symptoms or the positive result of a test, the government Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States indicate on its website ( CDC, for its acronym in English).
As the virus is still present in Biden’s body, the White House has suspended two trips that were scheduled for the next few days, one to Delaware and the other to Michigan.
In addition, he had to suspend a visit he had planned to make on Saturday to a group of war veterans who are protesting outside the Capitol because Republicans this week blocked the approval of a bill that would help those who have been exposed to toxic agents. during his service in the Armed forces.
“Covid got in my way,” Biden lamented this Sunday on Twitter.
Instead of going over to see them, he FaceTimed the group and asked Veterans Secretary Denis McDonough to deliver some pizzas.
