The Russian message reads thus: “Lthe militants [de Azov] they deserve execution, but death not by firing squad, but by hanging, because they are not true soldiers. I know they deserve a humiliating death”.

The social network Twitter considers that the message violates its regulations on “hateful conduct”, although it has only partially censored this message, adding a warning to the publication, which it did not completely delete, considering it “in the public interest”.

Russia has published this tweet after the authorities of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk, related to Moscow, raised the death toll to more than 50 due to an attack blamed on the Ukrainian Army and that has reached a prison in the town of Yelenovka (town also known as Olenivka, in Ukrainian). Yes Well, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have denied having carried out these actions and have pointed to the Russians as responsible.

“War crime”

The President of Ukraine, Volodímir Zelenskihas already branded the attack on the prison, for which he blames Russia, as “a war crime”. For this reason, the leader has called the United Nations Organization (UN) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to initiate an investigation in this regard.

“Bombing is a cynical act of terrorism by the Russian Federationa military provocation and a classic false flag operation with the purpose of hide war crimes, discredit the Ukrainian armed forces and increase tensions in Ukrainian society”they say from the Army of Ukraine.

Both events – the attack on the prison and the calls to “hang” the members of Azov – have also been referred to on Twitter by the spokesman for Ukrainian diplomacy Oleg Nikolenko.

“There is no difference between the Russian diplomats who call for the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war and the Russian troops who do so in Olenivka. They are all complicit in these war crimes and must be held accountable,” he said bluntly.
