UB FK Lecturer: Here’s the Handling and How to Prevent Monkeypox or Monkeypox!

Brawijaya University Medical Faculty lecturer explained how to handle and prevent monkeypox or monkeypox.

HAI-Online.com – It has been declared a global health emergency by the WHO, monkey pox or monkeypox it turns out to have symptoms similar to chickenpox in general, but tend to be milder.

This was stated by the Lecturer medical School Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Dr. dr. Dhelya Widasmara, SpKK (K). quoted from the UB page through Kompas.com on Sunday (31/7/2022).

“The difference is that monkeypox has enlarged lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy),” he said.

Symptoms of monkeypox or monkeypox

Signs and symptoms appear depending on the stage of the disease. First, there is the prodromal phase (which shows symptoms).

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Indonesian Ministry of Health, early symptoms in this prodromal phase include:

  • Fever accompanied by a headache that sometimes feels great
  • Muscle ache
  • Back pain
  • Swollen lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy) felt in the neck, armpits, or in the groin area
  • Hot cold body even tired and weak

Second, the eruption phase. Occurs 1-3 days (sometimes longer) after the prodromal phase.

In this phase, rashes or lesions appear on the skin. Usually these rashes or lesions start on the face, then gradually spread to other parts of the body.
