Animal rights activists jump in a basin between the dolphins of Boudewijn Seapark

Around 4.30 pm this afternoon, the dolphin show was interrupted after a few minutes by an action by animal rights activists of the collective “The vegan strike team”. With banners in hand, they jumped into the pool with the dolphins. With slogans like “Dolphins belong in the sea” and “Stop animal shows”.

The hall was evacuated and the police eventually had to fish the duo out of the water. “The two have been administratively detained until the closure of the park tonight,” the Bruges police report to VRT NWS. The show could be resumed around 5 p.m. A report has not yet been drawn up, the police is waiting for a complaint from the park itself.
