Hamburg – Different starting point for both sides. the Hamburg Sea Devils meet on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Hoheluft Stadium Istanbul Rams. While the first leg ended positively for the Hanseatic League with a record 70-0 away win, a completely different team is expected in the second leg.
Last week, the Istanbul Rams defeated the Barcelona Dragons 22-19 with a renewed roster. Not a surprising result for head coach Charles Jones. “If the Rams won, we could have been in the role of the Barcelona Dragons. In the first leg we set ourselves the goal of approaching the game like any other. The plan also stands for the second leg,” Jones points out the danger posed by the Rams. “In Zachary Blair they have a strong leader who keeps the team together. They will do everything to win this game as well.”

Evans Yeboah, Tobias Nill, Louis Müller and Gerald Ameln are not there for the Hamburg Sea Devils at the weekend. Still, it’s a diverse and confident roster looking set to record a sixth straight win against the Rams. “We showed a lot of good things against Rhein Fire, but we didn’t execute all aspects perfectly. Some technical things we need to improve and keep working on bugs. As a coach you would prefer not to allow any points at all. We still haven’t put in our best performance yet,” said Charles Jones.

The Sea Devils are currently not only at the top of the Northern Conference, but also as the strongest team in the league in terms of yards, both offensively and defensively. Against the Istanbul Rams it should be built on.
