Inhabitant of the Las Delicias neighborhood is convicted of the murder of his neighbor

The Attorney General’s Office managed to get a 29-year-old subject, identified as Juan David Hernández Velasco, sentenced to 17 years and four months in prison for the murder of 26-year-old Jhon Harvy Lozano Ariza, which occurred in the midst of an act of intolerance on November 11, 2021 in the Las Delicias neighborhood of the sixth commune of Ibagué.

The investigation made it possible to establish that the attack of which Lozano Ariza was a victim occurred because he danced with the girlfriend of the man sentenced today.

The crime

The accusing entity announced that it obtained a sentence of 17 years and four months in prison against Juan David Hernández Velasco, for the crime of aggravated homicide of which Jhon Jarvi Lozano Ariza was the victim on November 11, 2021, in the neighborhood Las Delicias de Ibagué, in the midst of an act of intolerance. The man sentenced today accepted responsibility for him through a pre-agreement with the Attorney General’s Office.

Hernández Velasco also assured that the day of the events ended the life of the victim out of jealousy, since she had asked her girlfriend to dance, which, according to him, made him uncomfortable, leading him to make the fatal decision.

Regarding Jhon Jarvi Lozano Ariza, who was 26 years old at the time of his death, it was established that he was wounded on several occasions with a knife that day after the aggressor waited for him outside a public establishment where they were chatting. He was immediately rushed to a health center where he arrived without vital signs.

The first versions that were known about this fact indicated that the attack against Lozano Ariza would have originated because this person tried to steal a woman’s belongings, however, with the passing of the hours it was denied and the true reasons were known. of the attack.

The day of the crime, Hernández Velasco was captured, but was released while the investigation progressed, until he was arrested again in January of this year by members of the CTI and the National Police in the same sector where the events occurred.
