Apple earns significantly more from services, Mac sales dropped significantly – Tablets and phones – News

The euro had a value of > $1.20 a year ago,

Now it is practically equal to the dollar. So you have lost 20% of dollar ‘value’..

At least, that’s the simple calculation.

In practice, 90% of $$$ doesn’t even end up in the US, but is deposited in other countries, to avoid tax and, once the exchange rate is right, moved again to Valhalla.

But if you now want to spend the euros in dollars, that means 20/30% less dollars for the same euros than a year ago …

Realistically, this is often the moment that eg EU debts are repaid, because it is now ‘cheaper’ from the dollar. (More euros for 1 dollar === discount)

Wouldn’t feel sorry either

For example, when the dollar is low, such companies buy back their own shares and thereby push up the price per share, bought money from a currency that is currently favorable, and as soon as the dollar goes up again, they sell them again.. etc etc.

I’m not a specialist, so it could also be completely the other way around or completely missed the point (I’m sure).

ps I don’t understand why it is still legal for a company to buy back your own shares .. after all, you by definition have inside information as a company, right?

Suppose a company sends a negative message to the world, in which they say they can produce 20% less, then shares fall and exactly then they buy their own shares.

Then (24 hours later) they say: oh no dude, we can even get 20% extra so stock shoots up, company sells the same stock with well over billions in profit. Jackpot

Anyone have a good explanation why this is allowed? :? :|
