In Sweden, the use of electric scooters on sidewalks will soon be banned, the government announced on Thursday.

The ban will come into effect on September 1. Violation of the ban is subject to fines.

One Twitter user believes that this is the time when “we should copy Sweden’s example directly”, while another thinks that many people would be sad if that were the case. Another person has requested that electric scooters be prohibited from moving on the sidewalks here as well.
