The Minister of Health has officially spoken to millions of Romanians from all over the country about one of the most important news that the whole world is waiting for, the end of the Corona virus pandemic, but he says that this will only happen when the number of cases will decrease extremely for a long time.
The Minister of Health says that only when very few, sporadic cases are reached, the pandemic will be declared over, so we are extremely far from this point, separately he talks about the recalculation of the number of deaths generated by the Coronavirus, saying that he does not yet have information about such trial.
“However, we are preparing for the vaccination in the fall, if there will be interest at the level of family doctors’ offices on the one hand, and in the vaccination centers organized in public health facilities. Speaking of the other question, I think that the vaccine currently represents a protection, if you will, only against complicated variants in the elderly.
It is a vaccine (n. ed. the vaccine authorized by the EMA for use against monkey pox) that is not necessarily against monkey pox, it is a vaccine that has been kept in reserve generally for the armed forces. This type of vaccine is against classic smallpox, which was eradicated in 1979, but it can also reduce the transmissibility of monkeypox.
The European Union will buy a certain amount of vaccine, of which a share proportional to the population, a few thousand doses, will go to Romania. This vaccine is not recommended for mass immunization, but for close contacts of infected people to prevent the disease, or to generate mild forms that do not cause any kind of problems.
The end of the pandemic, officially, is when the number of cases starts to decrease constantly in all regions of the world, and practically it is found that the sustained transmission stops, and the possible cases of transmission are of an epidemic form, that is, there are sporadic cases that appear here and there, and which do not pose public health problems in any way.
