Never Accepting the Indonesian National Team, EAFF Gets Threats from Homeland Netizens : Okezone Bola

SO come and receive Indonesian National teamEast Asian Football Federation (EAFF) received threats from netizens in the country. One of the netizens with the ad*_np*8 account, left a comment on one of EAFF’s Instagram account uploads, @EAFF_Official.

He threatened to delete the @EAFF_Official account if it made it difficult for the Indonesian national team, in this case PSSI, to join EAFF. “Don’t make Indonesia difficult, if you don’t want your account to disappear like a foreign artist insulting Indonesia,” wrote the ad*_np*8 account.

The Indonesian National Team has not yet joined the EAFF because PSSI itself has not submitted an application to move federations. Especially recently or mid last week, PSSI indicated it would stay in the AFF.

“I’m not saying we will leave the AFF. I’m just conveying the wishes of the netizens. Never. Please pay attention to this,” said PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan.

“We have to research, analyze, can’t make decisions so quickly. This is an association of ASEAN countries, politically we stand together in this association,” continued Mochamad Iriawan.

Even if PSSI proposes a transfer, the process will not be as easy as turning the palm of the hand. PSSI must have the approval of 10 EAFF members to join them.

Take India for example. Since the last few years, India has wanted to leave the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) to join the Central Asian Football Federation (CAFA). The reason India wants to move is because they are too dominant in the region.

By moving to CAFA, India will clash with strong Central Asian teams such as Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. For Iran and Afghanistan, they also moved the federation from the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) to CAFA.

Therefore, it is very likely that PSSI will remain in the AFF. Therefore, Indonesian National team will take part in the 2022 AFF Cup.

The draw for the 2022 AFF Cup will be held in Bangkok, Thailand in August 2022. It will be interesting to wait for the 2022 AFF Cup draw results.
