In addition to the three names, DGP Volunteers also recommend other potential figures. These include Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Marinves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, President Commissioner of PT Pertamina Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti, and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD.
The General Chairperson of DGP Volunteers, Raden Zico Suroto, explained that KH Marsudi Syuhud was recommended because apart from the Deputy Head of MUI, he was also an advisor to the organization. “He is our adviser, so we recommend becoming the vice president for Ganjar Pranowo,” said Zico Suroto, Thursday (28/7/2022).
According to him, together with Kiai Marsudi, DGP volunteers also carry out many social activities. One of them is providing educational scholarships for the community. “The NU figure, serving as Deputy Chairperson of the MUI, Kiai Marsudi, has contributed a lot to the education, economy, and social life of the community,” he said.
KH Marsudi Syuhud is a figure born in Kebumen, February 7, 1964, in Jogosimo Village, Klirong District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java. The son of the couple H Suhudi and Hj Sairah has studied classical books such as Jurumiyah and Imrity since early school in his village. After that he continued his education at the Raudlatul Mubtadiin Islamic Boarding School in Jatisari, Jenggawah, Jember, studying at KH Abu Hamid. Kiai Marsudi Syuhud also studied at the Al-Ihya’ Ulumiddin Islamic Boarding School, Kasugihan, Cilacap, under the care of KH Mustholih Badawi as well as completing his MTS and MA education.
Not only studying at the cottage, Kiai Marsudi also received higher education. He studied S1 majoring in English Literature STKIP PGRI Institute and continued his Masters in Marketing Management at Tarumanegara University, as well as a doctorate in Islamic Economics and Finance at Trisakti University.

Kiai Marsudin Syuhud served as Secretary General of PBNU for the period 2009-2014 and Chairman of PBNU for the period 2014-2020. Currently, in addition to serving as Deputy Chair of the MUI for the 2020-2025 period, Kiai Marsudi is also the caretaker of the Darul Uchwah Islamic Boarding School.
