The government will begin to provide COVID-19 vaccine fourth dose or second booster to health workers tomorrow. Will the general public also get a second booster vaccine shot?
“The mechanism for administering the fourth dose of vaccine will continue to follow the priority scale as previously done,” said the spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, in a press conference broadcast on BNPB’s YouTube, Thursday (28/7/2022).
He said there was an opportunity for the general public to get the 4th dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Because the spread of COVID-19 can be experienced by all groups of people.

“It is very possible to have an expansion target considering that it is not only health workers who are at risk of contracting it,” he said.
However, he said the government was still focused on expanding the recipients of the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Furthermore, the government is currently focusing on implementing a booster vaccination or a third dose of vaccination,” he added.
The task force asked the community to take care of each other and invite other people who have not been boosters. This is because there is an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.
“Let’s take care of vulnerable groups such as the elderly and comorbid,” he urged.
