The actor’s career spanned seven decades, Bernard Cribbins stood out for his performance, but also for his participation in the 1970 children’s program: The Wombles. He was also in the 1966 film Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 AD; and more. He was an actor, comedian, singer, and storyteller who tried out various facets of acting, from Shakespeare to pantomime.
Cribbins was born in Oldham in 1928, left school at the age of 13 and from there began to work as an assistant stage manager at a local drama club, thus managing to give life to various roles. For the British public, his facet as the narrator and storyteller of the children’s program The Wombles is the highlight.
