Currently pending release Zen 4 pro desktop alias Ryzen 7000 alias Raphael around mid-September. Even for this, AMD manages to keep enough information under wraps and, paradoxically, there are fewer leaks than with more distant Intel processors Raptor Lake.
AMD posted a trailer for the event on the website Meet the Experts, which will present new motherboards with socket AM5. However, the description of the event contains the peculiar wording “recent release of AMD Ryzen 7000 processors”. So in terms of August 4th, “recent release” would have to happen sometime between now and August 4th. But that is practically impossible. If the Ryzen 7000 were to be released within a week, reviewers would have to have the hardware in their hands and significantly more information would be leaked.
However, it cannot be ruled out that the words do not mean a release, but the announcement of new processors, or the wording is inaccurate as to the release of “Ryzen 7000” and is meant to be an architecture release Zen 4. Releasing details about an architecture before the release of a product built on it is not unusual for AMD.
We should know in a few days what will actually be released, shown or revealed. That is, if AMD does not clarify the formulation on the website by then.
Update 7/27/2022: AMD has corrected the wording on the website from “recent launch of AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors“ na „recent announcement of AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors”. So something is really coming – but it won’t be a release, but an announcement.
