Blizzard Entertainment announced that the Lich Rei Arthas Menethil is getting ready to touch terror in World of Warcraft again later this year with the launch of a “new” expansion.
According to the producer, starting September 26, the Horde and the Alliance will have a new chance to face the Lich King with the arrival of Wrath of the Lich King Classica recreation of the classic expansion of WoW. The new feature will be available globally at 19:00 (Brasilia time) and can be accessed at no additional cost by all players with an active subscription.
“To confront the Lich King, players will embark on a treacherous journey through the wintry forests and snowy peaks of the Northrend continent,” explains the developer in a press release. This new territory is “the largest land mass that Blizzard has already added to the game with an expansion (until the release of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight)”.
In addition to the opportunity to face Arthas Menethil’s undead army, players starting at level 55 will also have access to the new heroic class Death Knights, which also arrives with the new expansion. Furthermore, Wrath of the Lich King Classic will mark “the introduction of the profession inscriptionwhich allows players to inscribe glyphs capable of enhancing abilities, altering the appearance and modifying the properties of spells and abilities”.
The expansion also promises to allow players to put “their expertise and new skills to the test” with the addition of 13 dungeons “memorable” seen in the original release of Wrath of the Lich King. It will be possible, for example, to face Yogg-Saron’s minions in Ahn’kahet: The Old Kingdom, and face the tragic event known as the Purge of Stratholme.
Also 9 raids will be addedincluding updated versions of Naxxramas and Onyxia’s Lair from the pre-expansion of WoWas well as the Icecrown Citadel — where the epic story of Lich King Arthas Menethil comes to an end in “cinematic conclusion”.
Preparing the ground for the launch of Wrath of the Lich King Classicplayers can enjoy a 50% EXP bonus during the Jornadas Divertidas, an event that will run until the 26th of September. In addition, all subscribers to WoW will be able to create one Death Knight per Classic realm until the expansion release deadline. These characters can be upgraded to level 70 using the content available at Burning Crusade Classic — but only until the 27/09.
World of Warcraft is an MMORPG available for PC via Battle.NET, where you can play for free until level 20. After that, to continue moving forward, you need to subscribe.
