Barça boss: Messi’s chapter at Barcelona is not over yet

Club president Joan Laporta still hopes for superstar Lionel Messi to return to FC Barcelona in the future.

“I don’t think Messi’s chapter at Barcelona is over. And I think it’s our responsibility that this chapter is still open, that it’s not closed,” Laporta told ESPN. So there could be a better end for Messi at Barça than the previous one.

FC Barcelona dreams of Messi homecoming

Messi left Barcelona after more than 20 years in August 2021 for Paris Saint-Germain because the Catalans couldn’t afford to extend his contract. “For Barça he is probably the best player in history, the most efficient, only comparable to Johan Cruyff,” said Laporta. “But it had to happen one day. We had to make a decision.”
