The press service of the Northwest Administration of Russian Customs reports that on July 12, “customs officers on the border with Latvia at the customs post of the Burački checkpoint took boxes with artificial eyelashes from a Moldovan citizen with a total weight of 27 kilograms. Undeclared sets of false eyelashes were found during the inspection of the luggage of a Moldovan citizen”.
Customs officials found packages with cardboard boxes in the Moldovan car, which contained plastic boxes with false eyelashes of different sizes. The Moldovan citizen explained to the Russian customs that an acquaintance had asked him to take the packages from Moscow to his homeland. He didn’t seem to know what was in them.
An administrative case was initiated in accordance with Article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation. point (non-declaration of goods to be declared in the prescribed form when exported from the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union). An investigation is underway, the eyelashes have been confiscated, the Russian side reports.
