Clash of fans during the match in Siedlce. There was a fight in the buffer zone of the stadium. A dozen or so people were detained.

The incident took place last Saturday around 17.40, at the Municipal Stadium in Siedlce. The players of Pogoń Siedlce and Polonia Warszawa were to appear on the pitch.

– Visiting fans who, after being identified by the security, crossed the stadium’s gates, did not take the designated places, and broke into the buffer zone of the stadium, where there was a fight between them and local fans who left the previously occupied seats in the fan zone – describes Małgorzata Mazurek-Pawlik from the police in Siedlce.

Gas, sticks
– The organizer of the event asked for police officers to enter the stadium. Due to the real threat to health and life, the commander of the police actions carried out in connection with securing the match made a decision to bring the police forces into the facility. The policemen securing the match stepped into action. In order to restore order and order, the uniforms were forced to use means of direct coercion in the form of gas and truncheons – adds the policewoman.

He emphasizes that 15 visiting hooligans have been arrested and will be charged with participating in a fight. They face up to three years in prison for this.

– On the other hand, two detainees, after detailed questioning, were released. Police officers are now analyzing the surveillance recordings and police cameras in order to identify and detain other people who took part in the fight – Mazurek-Pawlik reserves.
