Lifted corona restrictions and the already higher mobility of people during the holiday and holiday season have a negative effect on the number of blood donations.
Just one blood donation can help up to three seriously ill or injured people. Due to the short shelf life (blood platelets can only be kept for up to 4 days), patients are dependent on the continuous commitment of blood donors.
Every blood donation counts! The DRK asks all those willing to donate to schedule an appointment to donate blood in the next few days.
