Professor Tim Spector from the ZOE Health Study said morning fatigue even after a good night’s sleep and sore throat were most likely signs of coronavirus infection. According to him, people who have a sore throat at this time are most likely symptoms of COVID-19.
“Twice as many cases of COVID than the common cold today, the ratio has never been this high,” Professor Tim wrote on Twitter.
“The symptoms are pretty much the same except generally more tired and sore throat, so it’s best to assume it’s COVID,” he continued.

Professor Tim added, if you wake up in the morning with these symptoms, you should get a COVID-19 test as soon as possible.
“Try and get tested if you can. If you can’t get tested, assume you have the flu and stay away from other people until you feel better,” he says.
Previously, Professor Tim also reported the results of a study which stated the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants as the main cause of the increase in the number of cases in the UK.
“The new study shows that the new BA4 and BA5 variants work by evading existing immune defenses and also neutralizing some of them.”
“It’s no wonder they have been so successful that UK cases have soared to record levels.”
