Posted on Jul 25th, 2022 by Michael Schmich under Music

In the past few months there have been a number of very different Spotify murals on original podcasts, playlists and other initiatives in German media cities.

From April to July, for example, the Spotify Original Podcasts “Batman among dead”, „Hype & Hustle – die OnlyFans Revolution” and “Memento Moria – What is happening today at the borders of Europe” was advertised in the Berlin districts of Wedding and Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg at attention-grabbing locations.

New and unusual advertising techniques were also used. The mural for the blockbuster “Batman among dead” at the Wedding S-Bahn station, for example, glowed in the dark. The mural for the Spotify original podcast “hobbies” to see. The occasion is the format’s first birthday this month. The mural for the #withALLrefugees campaign, which was implemented together with the UNHCR as a partner, is currently being presented in Berlin. In keeping with World Refugee Day at the end of June, the mural was also made part of the Spotify Original Docu Podcast “Memento Moria – What is happening today at the borders of Europe” released.

In addition to the podcast murals, the eight-week mural campaign for the Spotify playlist “me right now” in the Cuvrystraße at the Berlin club “Lido”, Kreuzberg’s rock-indie-electro-pop living room in the middle of Wrangelkiez, another highlight. The mural showed a selection of five songs and was updated weekly. The community actively used social media to determine which songs were the focus. The playlist “mode million” repositioned after their re-branding. The campaign started on the first weekend of this year’s splash!
