Because of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the fate of this cellphone will end?

KOMPAS.com – Galaxy S22 Ultra become one of the best-selling smartphones Samsung in April 2022. This shows that Samsung’s flagship smartphone is able to attract users’ interest thanks to a number of specifications.

Apparently, the popularity of the Galaxy S22 Ultra influenced the fate of other Galaxy phones. According to reports from South Korean media outlets, The Elec, Samsung reportedly canceled production Galaxy S22 FE (Fan Edition).

The Galaxy S22 FE is a “cheap” version of the Galaxy S22, like the Galaxy S21 FE or S20 FE series. It’s called light because some of the specifications are derived from the “regular” Galaxy S21, Pro, or Ultra.

Usually the specifications that are derived are the camera and design aspects. Usually, the “FE” model is equipped with the same chipset as the other Galaxy S series. This is what Samsung is reportedly considering.

Since the chipset shortage crisis has not been completely resolved, Samsung prioritizes models that are considered more “promising”. According to The Elec, Samsung originally planned to prepare three million units of the Galaxy S22 FE. But in the end, the chipset allocation for the Galaxy S22 FE was shifted to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is more expensive than the Galaxy FE series.

However, this decision is called not the end of the Galaxy Fan Edition series line, as compiled KompasTekno from Tech Radar, Sunday (24/7/2022). Because, The Elec believes that there is still hope for Samsung to make the Galaxy S23 FE next year.

The previous generation, namely the Galaxy S21 FE, was also reportedly almost canceled. However, in the end, Samsung still released the Galaxy S21 FE.

Become one of the best selling smartphones April 2022

Research company Counterpoint at the end of April released a new report titled “Global Monthly Handset Sales Tracker”. The report compiles the 10 best-selling smartphones globally in April 2022.

According to the report, Apple dominates smartphone sales in April 2022 thanks to the iPhone 13 series. Apart from Apple, several Samsung brand smartphones are also included in the list of 10 best-selling smartphones. The four Samsung smartphones included in the list include the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy A13, Galaxy A03 Core and Galaxy A53 5G.

There are also phones made by Xiaomi that are included in the list. Conterpoint said, the 10 phones on the list represent 21 percent of total cell phone sales in April 2022. The following is a breakdown of the list.
