Vémola unequivocally swept Ilič, cheered up Štvanica and is once again the champion of the Octagon – ČT sport – Czech Television

“Does anyone else doubt that there is only one king in the Octagon? Nope,” Vémola roared with joy after a fight he clearly dominated. He quickly managed to move the fight to the ground and in the fourth minute ended the match with a so-called submission. “It turned out exactly as I said. He claimed that he would prepare for my big pressure. That’s what everyone says, but he couldn’t do it,” said Vémola.

“I knew that a dog that barks doesn’t bite. I was ready to chase him the whole time, but I promised that he wouldn’t make it to the third round,” he added.

Immediately after the match, Vémola challenged several rivals to a duel. According to his words, he is ready to face the middleweight champion Patrik Kincl, the elite Slovak Ivan Buchinger or Stephan Pütz from Germany. “Everyone who keeps saying that I’m choosing my opponent… I’m ready to play against anyone you put against me,” emphasized Vémola, who won his third match in two months.

Before his debut in the Czech organization, Ilič, three years younger, publicly announced that he would defeat Vémola and win the title. But in the end he had no chance. “Karlos was simply better and stronger. I will not make excuses. I take defeat like a man,” acknowledged Ilič.

A sovereign victory at the Oktagon 34 event was also claimed by Filip Macek, who ended the fight with Mikael Silander from Finland already in the first round. Daniel Škvor was similarly successful, as he quickly won the duel with the Greek Panagiotis Stroumpoulis. In the expected Czech battle, Jan Široký defeated compatriot Tomáš Fiala.

On the other hand, Michal Konrád and Michal Kotalík claimed defeats from the domestic fighters, and in the main preliminary match of the event, Matouš Kohout was not enough against the Pole Mateusz Legierský, who also succeeded in the fifth test of strength under the banner of the Czech organization.
