Details of the operation were not disclosed.

Information about the pace and success of the operation will be delayed, analysts said.

The Ukrainian army has either already launched a counteroffensive in the Kherson region, or is about to start. This is stated in report American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), published on the night of Sunday, July 24.

“Ukrainian troops are likely to be preparing or launched a counter-offensive in the Kherson region as of July 23, but information on the course and pace of the counter-offensive in the public domain will be limited and will lag behind events,” the document says.

Analysts refer to the message of the adviser of the Kherson regional state administration, Serhiy Khlan, who said the day before that Ukrainian troops had liberated some settlements in the region.

In addition, the ISW quotes an unnamed high-ranking representative of the US Department of Defense, who also informed about the de-occupation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of part of the villages near Kherson occupied by the Russian troops.

Experts note that the territory between the front line and Kherson is rural, there are small settlements that can pass under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the Russians without reports about it.
