Tor Immo is coming to Breisgau – Eishockey.net

With 27-year-old Tor Immo, EHC Freiburg has filled its third contingent position up front.

Born in Köping, Sweden, the striker went through the youth of the neighboring town of Arboga and completed his first full professional season in 2014 in Sweden’s third division at Olofströms IK, for which he immediately scored 23 points in 36 games. In the years that followed, Immo consistently distinguished himself as one of the best scorers in his team and thus achieved a statistic of 95 scorer points (44 goals) in 109 games.

In the 2017/18 season, the left-handed shooter then had the opportunity to prove himself in the second Swedish league and also showed his skills impressively there. In 201 games, the striker was able to produce a strong 152 points (75 goals). In 2019/20 he was the seventh best scorer in the entire second Swedish league.

Tor Immo spent the past 2021/22 season for the first time outside of Sweden with the Bratislava Capitals in the international ICEHL. After the Slovaks retired from play, the striker joined Orlin Znojmo (also ICEHL) for the remainder of the season. At this station, too, he scored a strong score of 30 points (including 10 goals) in 36 games. In the coming season, Tor Immo will be chasing points with the number 62 shirt for EHC Freiburg.

Peter Salmik, sporting director of EHC Freiburg: “After trying to score in the past, we are now very happy that it worked. Commitment seemed impossible for a long time. We continued to watch him the whole time. He’s a good size and we’re confident he’ll get the goals we need.”

Head coach Robert Hoffmann adds: “Tor has a great physique and an amazing wrist shot. He is particularly characterized by his goal threat and precision and will do us a lot of good in that respect. We were already in contact last season and this year we had very good discussions again and again. We are very lucky that he has chosen our Wolves and we are really happy to have him as part of our team.”

New signing Tor Immo: “I’m really looking forward to Freiburg and the coming season. I can’t wait to get to know the team, the club and especially the fans.”
