In view of the coming winter, and of the announced increases in methane gas consumption, many people are opting for the bonus stufe a pellet 2022.

After all, it is a biomass obtained from wood waste, and therefore 100% natural, which enjoys tax deductions up to 65%. However, in recent months, with the increase in demand, there has also been an increase in fuel prices.

Let’s see how to get tax deductions for the purchase of a pellet stove. But above all we try to understand if it is really convenient, given the increase in pellet prices in recent months.

2022 pellet stoves bonus: super deductions with eco-bonuses and mobile bonuses

In reality there is no real one bonus stufe a pellet. In fact, the tax deductions that can be enjoyed fall within well-known benefits, such as the Ecobonus or the mobile bonus.

Those who intend to purchase a pellet stove have the opportunity to benefit from a super discountuntil the 65% of the purchase value, for a maximum amount of 30 thousand euros. After all, it is a renewable energy source and, like photovoltaic and wind power plants, the state has foreseen deductions that can incentivize citizens to buy the stove.

However, in order to benefit from the deduction provided for by the Ecobonus, it is necessary to carry out driving works (eg energy requalification) to which other expenses are associated, such as those for the purchase of a pellet stove.

In short, it is not possible to take advantage of the tax deductions of 65% only by bearing the cost of a pellet stove.

As an alternative to the Ecobonus, it is also possible to take advantage of tax deductions at 50% provided by the mobile bonus. As established by the Budget Law 2022, pellet stoves are considered on a par with extraordinary maintenance of the property.

Thanks to this state incentive, consumers can access one 50% deduction of the value of the stove, for a maximum amount of 10,000 euros. Provided that the expenses are incurred by 31 December 2022.

Biomass-fired stoves are considered to equal to a heat pump air conditioning system. In fact, the 50% bonus can be applied to the purchase of any type of stove, even those that are not equipped with a smoke management system.

How to get tax deductions

To get the tax deductions of 50%, provided for the purchase of a pellet stove, just present the necessary documentation at the time of the tax return. If, on the other hand, you prefer to enjoy the incentive offered by the Ecobonus (65%), you need to submit specific documentation to Enea. In this case, it is up to the seller of the stove or the person who installs it to communicate.

Together with the tax documentation, the payment receipt must also be presented, made by bank transfer or credit / debit card transaction.

Choosing a traceable payment method is a necessary condition to access tax deductions. In fact, it is not possible to obtain the benefit if the payment is made in cash.

In any case, it is the responsibility of the seller or installer to certify that the stove meets the requirements that allow it to fall within the parameters sanctioned by Law 152/2006.

The cost of pellets: a problem for many consumers

The outbreak of war between Russia and Ukraine has had a ripple effect on the global economy, affecting various sectors.

In addition to the increases in the cost of energy, fuels, raw materials and basic necessities, consumers today also have to deal with the increase in pellet costs.

Pellet is a 100% natural fuel, obtained from the processing and waste of wood and vegetable fibers. Biomass is particularly valued for its ability to burn slowly, releasing a large amount of heat.

For these reasons, pellet-fired stoves represent an excellent alternative to methane gas, allowing you to heat homes and, at the same time, taking advantage of an important economic advantage. After all, pellets are a low-cost material. Or at least it was, until last winter.

In view of the cold season 2022, things have changed, with biomass that is no longer so cheap. The reason for the increase is linked to the crisis and emergency of fuels that is affecting most of the countries.

For this reason, the price of pellets has risen due to a sudden surge in demand. In fact, in the aftermath of the reductions in Russian gas flows to Europe, a large number of consumers decided to stock up on pellets for the winter.

The consequence of this “pellet rush” ended up empty warehouses and reduce stockswith the inevitable increase in prices, which currently are around 15/20 euros per bag.
