Quoted from Gizchina, according to TM Roh, President of Samsung Mobile, the foldable smartphone industry will experience nearly 10 million shipments in 2021. This figure is up 300 percent from 2020. Roh is confident that this trend will continue in the years to come.
“Foldable smartphones are becoming widespread and stake a bigger claim on the smartphone market as a whole,” said Roh. IDC also previously published a report estimating a total of 7.1 million foldable shipments for 2021.
Roh continued that 70 percent of Samsung’s Galaxy foldable smartphone users last year chose the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Interestingly, the device with a clamshell shape similar to a make-up box is a fan favorite. According to the company, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, on the other hand, is an option for those who prioritize multitasking and need a widescreen experience.
Roh ended his statement by providing a grid of the upcoming foldable smartphone. According to him, Samsung is making significant progress with the next generation. The new foldable smartphone is said to bring improvements in every detail.
