A reunion between the Bolland brothers does not seem likely for the time being. Rob and Ferdi got into a disagreement about the Falco-musical they worked on together and recently about participating in the TV show Dear Singersin which Ferdi will participate next season.
In an interview with The watchword Rob tells Saturday that that last incident was the last straw.
“It was the umpteenth Judas trick that Ferdi delivered to me,” says 67-year-old Rob, who was told two years ago that he is terminally ill.
“We had just been ‘reunited’ because of my cancer condition, after twenty years of bickering on the square centimeter, but this seems like a good time to say: that’s enough.”
‘Dear Singers refuse Rob because he is sick’
The issue surrounding Dear Singers revolves around the fact that Rob (on the photo on the right) was not asked as a participant for the program and his brother was. Rob was also eager to participate and suggested last month that he has been refused by the program makers because he is ill.
According to Ferdi, there was never any question that they would be in the program together. AVROTROS also stated earlier that his illness “was not discussed” when assessing whether he could participate. “He was just never asked and so we have not discussed it,” said the broadcaster.
Rob stays opposite The watchword that the producer of the program has “literally” told him “that he is not a terminally ill patient on his Dear Singers-bank”. That only Ferdi was asked and who then said nothing about it to his brother, stabs Rob.
