The French chain of stores Darty (household appliances and electronics) already distributes the Citroen Ami, an electric mini car, in its shopping centers. Right after Darty comes the BEV offered by Lidl.
Also from Lidl you can now rent a 100% electric car to be recharged for free. The other news comes from Arval Italy which launches its initiative to promote the use of electric cars.

BEV arrives at the supermarket thanks to Lidl which proposes the rental of an Elaris Finn in some of its stores. In Germany, Lidl already offers free refills: from today, you can also rent this mini electric car made in China. Lidl launched the initiative in June through the provider Like2Drive.
How much does the rental cost? One month’s rental costs 222 euros valid for one year for a maximum of 10 thousand km overall, all included.
Launched in China in 2019, the Elaris Finn mini car presents features interesting:
- 45 HP engine with a maximum speed of 115 km / h;
- Battery that ensures 300 km of autonomy;
- Equipment and finishes of a good standard;
- Advanced security systems;
- 12.3 ” display that interacts with Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
In Germany, in addition to Finn, there are two other models of this brand: Elaris Pio (citi car) and Elaris Beo, a compact SUV competing with the VW ID4.
Speaking of competitors, it must be said that the Elaris Finn mini car is the potential competitor of the Smart Fortwo.
Arval Italia’s proposal to promote electric mobility
The leading long-term car rental company, Arval Italylaunches an initiative: a package that includes rental and top-up, cards and appsall included in the fee.
This service is provided in conjunction with HELLO Mobilitywhich deals with mobility ready to use.
With the “Arval Energy Card Service Management” service, the user can take advantage of:
- a RFID Card for recharging at a dedicated network. By September 2022, this network is expected to serve more than 500 charging points in Italy;
- l’app HELLO Charge which supports the driver in various functions: identification of the nearest columns, reservations, monitoring, access to a network of over 200 automatic parking lots with over 180 charging points, parking with columns, conclusion of charging sessions.
