Valdepeñas offers a machinery loan service for farmers and ranchers to which it has incorporated brush cutters, rollers, quick harrows and bernetes that aim to facilitate daily work for those who do not have this type of element on their property. The council has allocated an investment of 70,000 euros for the acquisition of these new machines.
The Councilor for the Environment and Agriculture, José Antonio Sánchez Elola, has pointed out that machinery such as the brushcutter or quick harrows allow the plots to be cleaned, something that is mandatory to maintain the decoration and avoid fire outbreaks. “Unfortunately we are seeing it on a daily basis, due to the high temperatures we are enduring, any spark from a machine or glass causes a fire and this is prevented by keeping clean,” explained Elola, noting that “the municipal plots are cleaned but also those farmers who do not have the possibility of renting or buying a machine can request them with a fee, to prevent the grasslands from growing and causing a fire”.
In this sense, the Councilor for Agriculture pointed out that “we are sending a lot of letters, in May and June, so that anyone who has an urban or rural plot that is in danger of fire, please take care of it and clear it, it is a obligation that we have to keep our plots clean and, especially, in summer to avoid this type of fire”.
The council has allocated an investment of 70,000 euros for the acquisition of the brushcutter, rollers, bernetes and fast stands, machinery that will facilitate agricultural and livestock work.
