On Friday morning (July 22), several unknown suspects attacked and shot at a money transporter in Cologne-Marienburg. According to the current state of investigation, the masked strangers are said to have slowed down the money transporter at around 7.30 a.m. at the crossing Militaerringstraße/Konrad-Adenauer-Straße and – after the doors of the vehicle were not opened when requested by the security guards – shot at it several times. The attackers are said to have set fire to one of their vehicles, a blue Renault, and fled in a dark Mercedes Vito across Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse in an unknown direction. Whether and how much loot the fugitives made is the subject of the investigation. The search for the suspects and the securing of evidence at the crime scene are currently ongoing. Criminal Police Office 14 has started the investigation. Witnesses who see the suspects or the getaway vehicle should contact the police immediately.
