Surabaya –
Aircraft Citilink Indonesia, the Surabaya-Makassar route, made an emergency landing at Juanda Airport, Surabaya. Pilot Citilink Indonesia experienced illness on the plane and died.
President Director of PT Citilink Indonesia Dewa Kadek Rai explained the chronology of this emergency landing. The Citilink plane took off as scheduled on Thursday (21/7) at 06.00 WIB from Juanda Airport.

However, 15 minutes of flying, the pilot’s health declined. Then it was decided that the plane made an emergency landing at 07.00 WIB at Juanda Airport.

“Ground officers together with all stakeholders at Juanda Airport Surabaya have prepared procedures for handling health emergency evacuations very quickly and well, and the pilot has been handled by doctors at the nearest hospital,” added Kadek.
Citilink Indonesia officers in Surabaya provide explanations to passengers regarding the emergency landing. Then, Citilink Indonesia replaced the aircraft and the entire crew, and the flight was flown back at 10.46 WIB.
