The Mitsubishi New Colt L300, assembled in the Philippines, is officially sold in Indonesia. However, the appearance of this pickup car has not changed much, it is still identical to the previous generation. Whereas the L300 competitors such as the Suzuki Carry, underwent a fairly radical facial design change. Then what is the reason Mitsubishi still maintains the classic look of the New Colt L300?
Director of Sales & Marketing of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), Irwan Kuncoro said, the L300 design is currently well received and embedded in the commercial vehicle segment consumers. So Mitsubishi does not need to speculate by presenting a new look in the New Colt L300.
“This is a commercial car, yes, when it comes to design. And the L300 is 40 years old, very well received by the market, becoming a market leader. So what has been well received, there is no need to change it,” said Irwan to reporters in Bekasi, Wednesday ( 20/7/2022).

“So if (the L300 design) is well received, if it is changed, it might not even be accepted,” continued Irwan.
Irwan added, in determining the update in the L300 model, Mitsubishi listened to consumer input and needs. The goal is that the improvisations made on the L300 really match the wishes of consumers.
“But (updates) that are really needed, for example, such as more power, more efficiency, more tubs that fit more, a more spacious cabin. Yes, it really fits the needs of the market like that,” added Irwan.

For information, the New Colt L300 sold in Indonesia is an imported product from the Philippines. The pickup now comes with a cargo size of 8% wider, or 200 mm longer to 2,630 mm, and is claimed to be superior and can benefit entrepreneurs in terms of carrying capacity.
From the engine side, this car is equipped with a new 2.268 cc diesel engine with the 4N14 – DOHC 4 Cylinder Inline, Direct Injection, Inter Cooler Common Rail Turbocharger model.
This engine is capable of producing 99.25 PS/3,500 rpm and 200 Nm/1,000-3,500 rpm of torque, about 40% more than the previous model to support more payload and with greater traction. The machine has also passed Euro4.
