Leipzig Airport and Dresden feel well prepared for the holiday season

More planes and more passengers

Many vacationers from Central Germany are looking at the start of the weekend vacation with concern. Will Saxon airports be just as chaotic as other airports these days? Why people are optimistic in Leipzig/Halle and Dresden.

Leipzig. The summer holidays in Saxony and Thuringia begin next weekend. In Saxony-Anhalt it starts earlier, this Thursday. Many vacationers who want to travel by plane are looking at the chaos at German airports these days with concern and wondering whether it will be just as bad at Saxon airports.

“We can reassure the travelers,” says airport spokesman Uwe Schuhart. Unlike at many airports, there were no bottlenecks in handling and service personnel in Leipzig/Halle and Dresden during the pandemic. Since no one had to be laid off, no foreign helpers would now be needed. “So we are well prepared.”
