Avanza-Xenia Twins Have More Sophisticated Features, Cheaper Prices

The Malaysian automotive company, Perodua, has launched its new MPV which is the twin of the Toyota Avanza-Daihatsu Xenia, namely the Perodua Alza. Perodua Alza has advanced features that Avanza-Xenia does not have in Indonesia.

From its shape, Perodua Alza is similar to Avanza-Xenia. However, the front fascia is a bit different, especially in the grille. Perodua Alza carries a chrome & glossy black grille. At the front there are also LED headlights and sequential turn signal (flowing lights).

Perodua will offer three variants of Alza, X, H and AV. The lowest variant or type X comes with LED headlights with a follow-me home function. In addition, there are also electric rearview mirrors with LED turn signals (manual folding), fabric seats, front (digital) and rear (manual) AC control, as well as Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) in the form of Pre-collision warning, pre-collision braking. , pedal misoperation control, and front departure alert.

While for type H, added driving modes (Eco, Normal, Power), LED headlights with the Adaptive Driving Beam feature, LED turn signals that light up flowing like a luxury car, rearview mirrors that can be folded automatically, rear armrests, MID TFT 7 screen 0.0-inch, 9.0-inch touchscreen head unit with reverse camera and front parking sensor.

The highest type AV is even more luxurious with the addition of two-tone semi-leather seats, electric parking brake with auto brake hold and a 360-degree parking camera. What is different from the Avanza-Xenia in Indonesia is that the Perodua Alza AV type gets Adaptive Cruise Control which can go automatically following the distance of the car in front of it without gas or brake input. In addition, other advanced features such as Lane Keep Control, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are still available. The AV Type also gets six airbags, including a curtain airbag.

Another feature of the Perodua Alza that is not available on the Avanza-Xenia in Indonesia. Perodua provides an Integrated Driving Video Recorder (DVR). This device functions like a black box or black box on an airplane, as a recorder when driving.

The specifications are pretty much the same. Perodua Alza, which is the twin of the Avanza-Xenia, carries a 2NR-FE 4 cylinder 1,500 cc Dual VVT-i engine with a D-CVT automatic transmission.

In Malaysia, Perodua Alza is sold starting from 62,500 ringgit (Rp. 210 million) for the X type, 68,000 ringgit (Rp. 230 million) for the H type, and 75,000 ringgit (Rp. 252 million) for the AV type. For comparison, the Avanza in Indonesia is currently selling for Rp. 233.1 million to Rp. 295.8 million, Veloz Rp. 286-331.1 million, and Xenia Rp. 216.9-274.1 million.
