Bruno Fernandes praises Erik ten Hag for tightening the discipline at Manchester United. According to the Portuguese playmaker, the new manager is very strict in following the rules.
“We missed that for a while,” Fernandes says in an interview with Reuters. “Discipline is very important. Then I don’t just mean things during matches, for example the position that everyone has to take, but also things off the field.”
Judging by the words of Fernandes, Ten Hag is much shorter than his predecessor Ralf Rangnick. He was appointed last season as the interim successor to the dismissed club icon Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Don’t be late for meetings, be on time for joint meals. That is all very important. It is good if a player who is late is penalized and it is nice that Ten Hag does that too. I am always up myself time, so I don’t have a problem with it anyway.”
According to 27-year-old Fernandes, Ten Hag asks a lot of the players, also in the field. “You will simply be passed by if you don’t do what he wants. On the other hand, he’s happy if you do what he wants you to do. Then it doesn’t matter if you don’t score or provide an assist.”

Manchester United are busy with a good practice campaign
Manchester United are still unbeaten in pre-season. Liverpool (4-0), Melbourne Victory (1-4) and Crystal Palace (3-1) were all beaten convincingly.
The number six of last season continues the preparation on Saturday with a duel with Aston Villa in Perth. For ‘The Red Devils’, the Premier League starts on August 7 with a home game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
