Listen! The recording of the last concert of the leader Edvīnas Zariņš, who passed away prematurely, has been released

Edvīns Zariņš, the leader of the popular Latvian country music group “Dakota”, once also the founder of the group “Dālderi” and the author of many well-known songs, went into music on January 28 of this year. Before that, the musician managed to participate in the TV recording of the “Live Stage in Ogre” concert series organized by guitarist Harija Zariņš and the Ogre County Culture Center, performing the band’s most popular songs. No one knew then that it was his last performance, which is now recorded and released in the commemorative album “Dakota. Edvīn Zariņš’s last concert”.

The initiators of the album release are band members and participants of this concert – Gundars Lintiņš (drums), Raitis Keišs (bass), Vīgants Murelis (steel guitar), Artūrs Palkevičs (keyboards) and Gatis Ivans (guitar). “Dakota” musicians about Edwin: “Edge was like a father, brother and friend to us. A musician with a capital letter in his whole being!”

The concert album includes songs:

1. The key to paradise

2. Dinner on the 5th

3. The voice of the wind

4. Go home

5. The Milky Way

6. Leave when it snows

7. House on wheels

8. Yellow curtains

9. Courtesan’s bonfire

10. About land surveyors

Dakota musicians, remembering Edwin’s concert in Ogre: “The concert was powerful, full of emotions, convincing, with jokes and humor. Maybe because we had finally met to play music after a long break due to the pandemic. Maybe there were also some hints in the air… Edja – I sincerely thank you for everything! For our unique group humor, for the sound of your music, your vision and passing it on to us. For your directness, which was sometimes harsh, but true and unadulterated! Thank you! We are and will always be your friends and second family, Dakota!”
