“12. In July, we started preparing for the upcoming world championship and finished training at the Rimi Olympic Center, thanks to the support of the Latvian Volleyball Federation. We will prepare in Latvia until the end of July and the first game in the world championship is on August 27. We are currently at the very beginning of the preparation process, and test matches with the Latvian national team are part of this process. At the moment, we will focus on our own game, but we will definitely fight,” the head coach of the Ukrainian national team commented on the upcoming test matches Ugis Krastiņš.
Latvian men’s national team head coach Michal Gogol expects maximum self-sacrifice from the boys from the test matches: “I am very happy that we will have the opportunity to play against such a good level team as the Ukrainian national team. A great opponent to test the elements we’ve been working on since the end of the Golden League. When conducting an in-depth analysis after the Golden League matches at the beginning of the summer, we would like to focus on the quality of our own play in the test matches and reduce the number of mistakes both in attack and defense.
