The Head of the Public Relations Division of the Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that this was related to the case of Brigadier J’s death at the residence of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
“To maintain independence, transparency and accountability, this evening the National Police Chief decided to deactivate two people. Deactivated Karo Paminal Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, the second deactivated was the South Jakarta Police Chief, Kombes Pol Budhi Herdi,” said Dedi on Wednesday night (7/20) .

Dedi explained that the National Police will continue to maintain independence and transparency in investigating the case of Brigadier J.
“Timsus continues to work in order to maintain transparency, independence, the team must really keep the mandate in accordance with the Chief of Police so that scientific proof is a must,” said Dedi.
It is known, Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan was mentioned as the person who forbade Brigadier J’s family to see the body. This was conveyed by Brigadier J’s attorney, Johnson Pandjaitan.
According to Johnson, Hendra Kurniawan sent Brigadier J’s body and intimidated the family by forbidding them to open the coffin.
Meanwhile, the Main Investigator of the Divpropam Polri Kombes Leonardo Simatupang claimed that he was the one who delivered Brigadier J’s body to the family.
He said Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan was not present during the process of handing over the bodies to the family.
Previously, the National Police had also disabled Inspector General Ferdy Sambo from the position of Head of the Propam Division. Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Gatot Eddy, who temporarily carried out the duties left by Ferdy.
