Amsterdam – Supermarket chain Jumbo is on track to break through the magical €10 billion turnover, albeit a year later than planned. In the first half of the year, the sales of the Veghel company, which also includes the restaurants of La Place, amounted to €5.46 billion. That is an increase of 1.6% compared to the first six months of 2021. Jumbo is counting on ‘slight turnover growth’ for the rest of this year. CEO Frits van Eerd speaks of challenges that are ‘diverse and increasing in size’: “It does not appear that calm will return in the market in the coming months.”
