Groen co-chairman Vaneeckhout calls on colleagues to make government work | Inland

Vaneeckhout acknowledged that the pension agreement is a first step and that important steps still need to be taken. He wants a fair financing system, which is now being worked out by the Planning Bureau. For the Groen co-chair, this system is also linked to the tax reform.

For him, further steps need to be taken in the next two years. That is why he calls on his fellow presidents to let their government members do their job and not to drive down every proposal in advance, mentioning not only PS chairman Paul Magnette but also MR colleague Georges-Louis Bouchez.

“They must transcend themselves and not get stuck in their own right”, says Vaneeckhout, who calls on his colleagues to change their mode, and “not want to be in election mode, not want to profile themselves permanently”.
