Jakarta –
The Central Jakarta District Court decided that BUMN Istaka Karya was bankrupt because it was unable to fulfill its obligations which were due at the end of 2021. Istaka Karya has a debt of Rp 1.08 trillion.
Since the homologation decision in 2013, Istaka Karya has not shown any improvement in performance. As of 2021, Istaka Karya has a total liability of Rp 1.08 trillion with the company’s equity recorded minus Rp 570 billion. Meanwhile, the company’s total assets were recorded at Rp 514 billion.
President Director of PT Perusahaan Pengelola Asset (Persero) (PPA) Yadi Jaya Ruchandi said PPA respects the Court’s decision on the cancellation of homologation Istaka Karya in an effort to provide legal certainty to all parties.

“Regarding all of Istaka Karya’s obligations to third parties, including salary and severance pay obligations to former employees, it will be settled from the sale of all company assets through an auction mechanism by the Curator in accordance with the Court’s decision,” Yadi said in his official statement, Tuesday (19/7/). 2022).
After the decision to cancel the homologation, the curator who is authorized as the company’s management will determine the continuation of the projects that are currently running. The curator will continue profitable projects so that they can be used to pay Istaka Karya’s obligations.
“We hope that all parties can respect and support the ongoing legal process,” Yadi concluded.
Istaka itself is a BUMN that is on the list to be dissolved by the Minister of BUMN, Erick Thohir. So, with this bankruptcy decision, will Istaka be immediately disbanded?
Yudi explained that bankruptcy is different from being dissolved. Bankruptcy is a legal process in which a company is declared unable to pay its debts by court order. So, it is necessary to clean up the company’s assets.
