BEIJINGRussia has received a lot of criticism from various western countries for its invasion of Ukraine. In fact, the country led by President Vladimir Putin has also received sanctions from the West for its decision.

However, in response to Russia’s actions, there are a number of countries that choose to be neutral or even support Russia.

These countries became friends of Russia who cooperated in various fields. According to a survey conducted by the Levada Center, a Russian non-governmental organization, here are some countries that are considered Russia’s friends.

1. Belarus

This former Soviet Union country located in Eastern Europe has strong bilateral relations with Russia. Not only support, but Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who is known to be dependent on Russia, is also actively helping Russia.

In the midst of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, Lukashenko agreed to supply military equipment to Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

In addition, Belarus is also a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which consists of countries from the former Soviet Union, including Russia.

2. India

Since the era of the Soviet Union, Russia has fostered relations with India. In 1971, the Soviet Union and India signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, although India also claimed to be a non-aligned country.

Cooperation in the defense sector is central to India-Russia relations. India imports a lot of weapons from Russia.
