Prime Video customers have to get used to it – again

Amazon has been working on the user interface of its streaming service. Now it is finished and the design brings some changes for the users.

The 150 million users of the streaming giant Prime Video around the world will soon have to get used to it. The user interface with an overview of all available series, films and sports programs changes its appearance, as the US company Amazon announced on Monday evening. The look in dark colors is vaguely reminiscent of the homepage of the competitor Netflix.

Thanks to the new navigation menu, the streaming audience should be able to find what they are looking for more easily in the future. The new design should make it easier to distinguish which videos are included in the Prime membership and which cost additional money. New main and subpages are there to improve search. So-called carousels, which scroll through programs and titles next to each other as an overview, should also contribute to this.

Amazon announced that it would gradually roll out the new menu to different regions and applications in the second half of August. The user interface is changing worldwide, but gradually. According to a spokeswoman, Germany is one of the first countries to use the new optics. The planned changes affect all applications, i.e. various apps, networked devices and also the streaming stick Fire TV.
