The education and science union has warned of a collapse of the school system and serious failures in teaching and learning goals. The North Rhine-Westphalia State Chairwoman Ayla Çelik spoke in the “Neue Westfälische” (Tuesday) of an education system that was characterized by a shortage. “Without significant relief, we are headed towards a collapse.” In view of the pandemic and a shortage of skilled workers, Federal Chairwoman Maike Finnern warned for the coming school year: “If we don’t get this situation of overload under control, it will be unavoidable that there will be a considerable loss of lessons.”
